How do I stay safe from scams during the wind-down?
Updated July 7, 2026
Wind-downs and acquisitions attract scammers. Expect fake “Cypher support” accounts, phishing emails about “urgent withdrawals” or “token migrations”, and lookalike sites. The rules:
- Cypher will never DM you first, call you, or ask for your recovery phrase, private keys, or a “verification deposit”. Anyone who does is a scammer.
- Avoid sending funds to Cypher deposit addresses during the wind-down — move funds out, not in.
- Only trust links from cypherhq.io and the official app — the offboarding steps live in the app, not in emails.
- There is no CYPR migration or swap. Anyone offering to “convert” your CYPR is a scammer.
- Verify any Telegram handle, Discord account, or email claiming to be Cypher with our anti-fake check.
- Never enter your recovery phrase anywhere except a wallet app you chose and installed yourself.
If something feels off, stop and email support@cypherhq.io directly.
