Can I still access my wallet after Cypher shuts down?

Yes. Your Cypher wallet is self-custodial — you hold the keys, and your funds live on-chain, not with Cypher. Nothing about the acquisition or the wind-down changes that. Your wallet stays yours forever.

What you must do before September 6, 2026 :

1. Back up your recovery phrase or private keys — reveal your 12/24 words in the app and write them down offline (step-by-step guide). Never store them digitally or share them with anyone.
2. Verify your backup — the app’s Backup Wallet step asks you to re-enter a few words to confirm it’s correct.

After shutdown, the Cypher app won’t be available, so your recovery phrase is the only way to access your wallet. You can import it into any standard self-custody wallet to keep using your funds. Cypher can never recover the phrase for you — self-custody means only you hold the keys.
